Finding a real Venezuelan cuatro when you are not in Venezuela is hard. Finding honest teaching for it is harder. That is the problem this page is for. Not a door-to-door shipping promise, and not a claim that we are the only shop on earth.
A Venezuelan cuatro is a four-string folk instrument, usually tuned A, D, F#, B. Most music stores do not keep one. Marketplace listings are uneven. A pretty photograph does not tell you if the pegs hold, if the neck is straight, or if anyone will answer you after you pay.
TuCuatro exists because the instrument and the music need both things at once: a way to learn, and a way to get a cuatro from a maker we have already evaluated.
What we are, and what we are not
We are a school. The English courses live on Learn. The Spanish path lives on Aprende. If you already have an instrument, start with where to begin learning the Venezuelan cuatro.
We also keep a network of luthiers and makers who build Venezuelan cuatros. We evaluate the instrument and the working relationship: how they communicate, how they build, and whether the cuatro that arrives matches what was described. The Spanish workshop page is luthier. The English introduction is Venezuelan cuatro luthiers.
We are not a factory that ships a student cuatro to any address in a fixed number of days. That business ended. If an old page, ad, or email still sounds like that, treat it as history. The live offer is advice, the store when something is actually listed, and a commission when you want an instrument made for you.
How to get an instrument from here
There are two honest paths. Neither one needs a slogan.
Ask what is already built. Open the TuCuatro store and look at what is listed today. Stock moves. We do not print a price floor or a delivery window on this page. If you are unsure, write to us with where you live and what you want the cuatro for (first instrument, concert, left-handed, travel).
Commission a luthier. Handmade work takes time. The maker may have a wait. We stay in that conversation so you are not chasing updates alone. We do not invent a number of months here. If you want the full buying map, read how to buy a Venezuelan cuatro.
If you are still deciding whether you even need one in your hands this month, you can start learning the path on the free courses and write us in parallel. The account steps are on how to open a TuCuatro account.
What we will not promise
We will not tell you this is the only place that sells Venezuelan instruments. We will not guarantee door-to-door arrival in mint condition on a calendar we cannot control. We will not scare you with a marketplace story and then sell you the same clock. We will tell you what is available, who built it, and how to reach us if something is unclear.
If you want to hear the instrument first, use how the Venezuelan cuatro looks and sounds.
