Just like many Venezuelan genres, the Andean Bambuco makes use of a 6×8 rhythm.

This genre should have the following rhythmic pattern and the “choques” should always be executed upwards:

In the following video, professor Pedro Borrero will play this wonderful genre and give a great example of typical Andean music. Chords made use of in this interpretation are Dm, Gm & A7.
