A very widely used scale because of its easiness to play and simplicity is the D Major scale. Have a look at how it is played and refer to the graphical illustration.

This happens to be one of the more popular keys to use with music and make sure that you practice this scale using the chromatic scale exercises that we will review in another lesson. Basically, you start from the first D on the first string and using all fingers with your playing hand (just as the instructor does in the video) you play the scale. This can be done starting front to back or go back to front once you have gained more agility in your fingers. Give it a try!
