Focusing on the Left Hand

We have reviewed the fundamentals of the right hand or the playing hand as it can also be referred to. Now we will begin to focus on the left hand which can also be referred to as the marking hand. This is referring to the hand that we make use of to mark chords and play notes with on the fretboard. If you already have a basic understanding on how to mark strings on other string instruments, this previously acquired knowledge will definitely help you. Whenever marking strings on the fretboard,  a very important part is to mark the strings properly in the middle of the frets. This is what helps to produce the best quality of sound when playing. Make sure that you press the string hard enough as well so that the resulting sound is clear and not muffled.

If you are a beginner with this, then do not be concerned, everything is possible through practice. Keep in mind the previously indicated techniques concerning the playing hand as they will be highly important when we begin to play the different scales on the Bandola.
