Specific Rhythms

TuCuatro

We are going to start off with two genres, the names of which may not sound familiar at all being Quitapesares and the Cuban Trova. Although these are not the most popular rhythms to play, they can be useful when it comes to recognition of Lating rhythms and simply to practice something different. The Quitapesares is a relative or sub-genre of the Joropo and the Cuban Trova is another popular rhythm originating from the eastern part of the island of Cuba (existing in the shadows of the Son u0026amp; Salsa).

The more we enhance and expand our knowledge of rhythms, the better our understanding of them will be. Who knows, next time you hear a rhythm and someone asks you what that could be….then you will know!

Enjoy the Quitapesares and the Cuban Trova!
