Otis Redding was an American singer, songwriter, and record producer considered one of the greatest singers in the history of modern popular music. Born in Dawson, Georgia, on September 9, 1941, and began singing in church choirs at a young age. Redding’s career in music began when he formed a group called the Otis Redding Revue with friends in the late 1950s.
